Riddick will be rated R
Oct 31st 2012, 09:32

Earlier this year, Vin Diesel claimed that Universal had given the green light to sci-fi sequel Riddick, despite knowing the film would likely be given an R-rating, and sure enough, that’s exactly the certificate the new film has been given. The MPAA has awarded the certificate on account of “strong violence, language and some sexual content/nudity”, which should please the movie’s core demographic of teenage boys and sci-fi gorehounds. The film will see the titular mercenary left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that he assumes to be lifeless. However, it soon proves to be anything but, with some rather bloodthirsty inhabitants coming out of the woodwork. Forced to activate an emergency beacon, Riddick soon finds himself with even more trouble on his plate, as a crew of rival mercs come looking for their bounty. Frying pan, meet fire... Written and directed by David Twohy, and co-starring Karl Urban, Katee Sackhoff and Bokeem Woodbine, Riddick will open in 2013, with a specific release date to be confirmed.

Bella re-connects with her human side in new Breaking Dawn clip: watch now
Oct 31st 2012, 09:27

Breaking Dawn - Part 2 has released a new clip online, in which Bella attempts to remember what it was like to be human, in an attempt to blend in better. Apparently, the trick to appearing human is to adopt a poor posture, move incredibly slowly and blink an unnecessary amount. Basically, she needs to look a bit more slovenly, and she’ll be away. Sadly for her, it’s a trickier business re-learning to be human, than it might at first appear. Curse those superhuman vampire reflexes! Check it out, below… The new film sees the Cullen family rallying their few remaining allies in order to band together against the Volturi, who are coming for the child Renesmee. Naturally, they won’t be allowed to take her without a fight. Directed by Bill Condon and co-starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 will open in the UK on 16 November 2012.

Star Wars Katrina Kaif Vs Isabella Kaif

Isabella KaifLooks

Though she looks quite close to her big sister, Isabella we think has a baby face. But she's fairer than Kat and lacks Indian features.

Hairstyle

Kaif sisters are blessed with good hair. Runs in the genes or what? Isabella's hair is long and voluminous.

Acting skills

Unlike Katrina who came to the industry with zero acting skills, Isabella has been taking expensive acting classes in New York. Katrina is grooming little sister by taking her along with her for events and promotions.

Star quotient

Like being Katrina's sister wasn't enough, Isabella's star quotient rose when a scandalous MMS of hers was leaked. Katrina being the protective sister shunned all rumours.

Katrina KaifLooks

Enough has been said about the pretty actress. Even though Isabella is the baby sister, Katrina looks younger than her and has sharp features.

Hairstyle

Katrina and Isabella have similar hairstyles, but Katrina's hair is sleeker and darker.

Acting skills

Katrina may have been a disaster when she started her career. But over time the starlet has matured as an actor with significant roles and even brushed up on her Hindi.

Star quotient

Being Salman's love interest was enough for Katrina to gain all the media attention. While Katrina may not be known for her acting skills, she has been in news for her endorsements and link-ups with actors such as Akshay Kumar and Ranbir Kapoor in the past.

Bryan Singer confirmed to direct X-Men: Days Of Future Past
Oct 31st 2012, 07:41

Having reported last week that Matthew Vaughn has stepped down from directing X-Men: Days Of Future Past, we suggested that Fox would probably move quickly to replace him, with an eye on the film’s tight production schedule. Sure enough, the studio have found themselves a new broom, with Bryan Singer officially confirmed to occupy the director’s chair. Welcome back, Bryan! Singer directed the first two X-men movies, and also worked on the script for Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class. He brings a wealth of experience to the table, and will likely be a fan-pleasing appointment. More fan-pleasing than Brett Ratner, anyway. The reasons for Vaughn’s departure remain undisclosed, but he will be maintaining some involvement with the project in his role as producer. The majority of First Class’s cast are expected to return for Days Of Future Past, with the film set to open in the UK on 18 July 2014. We’ll look forward to hearing from Singer in the coming weeks…

New images from Django Unchained
Oct 31st 2012, 07:54

Django Unchained has released a new batch of images, giving us our first look at supporting players Walton Goggins and Don Johnson, as well as some new glimpses of the key players. Johnson looks suitably dapper in an all-white suit and slick haircut, while Goggins cuts a more grizzled figure as Billy Crash, Calvin Candie’s ruthless slave trainer. Johnson’s character is thought to be a rival slave-owner, who encounters Django and Schultz at some point along their journey. We don’t fancy him to avoid a bullet in the chest for his troubles… Directed by Quentin Tarantino and co-starring Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kerry Washington, Django Unchained will open in the UK on 18 January 2013. In the meantime, you can check out the new images below…

Disney buys Lucasfilm and Star Wars franchise for $4 billion
Oct 31st 2012, 07:27

In one of the most momentous pieces of movie news in recent years, Disney have stumped up $4 billion to purchase Lucasfilm and the rights to the Star Wars franchise, with Star Wars: Episode VII set to land in 2015. The movie will be part of an all-new trilogy, with Episode VIII and Episode VIIII likely to arrive in 2017 and 2019 respectively. Lucasfilm has already mapped out a new storyline, with George Lucas having consulted on a script for part VII. “For the past 35 years, one of my greatest pleasures has been to see Star Wars passed from one generation to the next,” said Lucas in an official statement. “It’s now time for me to pass Star Wars on to a new generation of filmmakers. I’ve always believed that Star Wars could live beyond me, and I thought it was important to set up the transition during my lifetime. “I’m confident that with Lucasfilm under the leadership of Kathleen Kennedy (the newly appointed president), and having a new home within the Disney organization, Star Wars will certainly live on and flourish for many generations to come. Disney’s reach and experience give Lucasfilm the opportunity to blaze new trails in film, television, interactive media, theme parks, live entertainment, and consumer products.” “I have story treatments of 7, 8, and 9,” continues Lucas, “and a bunch of other movies and obviously we have hundreds of books and comics and everything you could possibly imagine. So I sort of moved that treasure trove of stories and various things to Kathy, and I have complete confidence that she’s gonna take them and make great movies.” Meanwhile, Kennedy confirmed that she is already liaising with writers to advance the script for Episode VII. “We’re in the midst of the really fun part of the process,” she says, “which is we’re sitting down with a couple of writers and we’re starting to discuss ideas and we’re starting to talk about what those stories might be.” Earth-shattering stuff then, and news that’s going to take a little while to process. In any case, it looks like the Avengers and the Justice League are going to have some fairly hefty competition in 2015…
