First on-set image of new RoboCop suit Sep 17th 2012, 07:13 Jose Padilha’s RoboCop reboot has begun filming in Toronto, with the first on-set image of the titular lawman’s new suit making its way onto the internet. Joel Kinnaman stars as former copper Alex Murphy, who finds himself posthumously transformed into a robotic peace-keeper by shadowy corporation, Omnicorp. And from the looks of this new image, he seems right at home in his new duds. The new suit looks significantly different from the one used in the Paul Verhoeven original, opting for an all-black colour scheme rather than the traditional black and silver. It actually looks closer to the Batsuit, if we’re being totally honest. Whether or not that’s a bad thing is up for debate, although at least Padilha and his team have got the confidence to try something different. However, we have a feeling the fans aren’t going to be as easily won over... Co-starring Gary Oldman, Samuel L Jackson, Michael Keaton, Abbie Cornish, Jay Baruchel and Jackie Earle Haley, RoboCop opens in the UK on 9 August 2013.
