Quentin Tarantino is keen to work with Johnny Depp

As Quentin Tarantino prepares to unleash his eighth film, Django Unchained, on UK shores, he’s already looking into the future and a possible team-up with Johnny Depp.

While chatting with talkshow host Charlie Rose, Tarantino admitted that the idea of working with the celluloid chameleon isn’t a new thing.

“We would love to work together,” he said. “We’ve talked about it for years. Not that we get together and talk about it for years, but from time to time.

“We’re obviously fans of each other. It just needs to be the right character. I just need to write the right character that I think Johnny would be the right guy to do it with.

“And if he agrees, then we’ll do it. And then it’ll be magical.”

So far, though, Tarantino hasn’t written a character that he thinks is suitable for the Pirates Of The Caribbean actor.

“I haven’t written the perfect character for Johnny Depp as of yet. Maybe someday I will, maybe someday I won’t. We’ll see.”

Doesn’t exactly sound like a sure thing yet, but we’d love to hear Depp having a go at some of Tarantino’s famously chewy dialogue.

Django Unchained opens in UK cinemas on 18 January 2013.
