Awesome new poster lands for The Wolverine
Oct 30th 2012, 07:25

The Wolverine has released a batch of exciting new material online, including a brand new poster and a filmed Q and A, in which James Mangold and Hugh Jackman answer questions posed by the fans. Of most interest is Mangold’s explanation of how the new film will fit in alongside the existing X-Men movies, with the story picking up after the events of the original trilogy. “This film situates itself after the three X-Men movies that exist and finds Logan at a point when the X-Men are gone, Jean Grey is gone, a lot of the ties he had to the world are gone,” says Mangold. “It was very important to me, I wanted to place this movie in a story where Hugh and I could allow it to create its own world. Not having to answer to another movie or hand-off to another movie, that we could kind of do what we wanted to do and take him where we were going to take him.” You can check out the Q an A in full, below… Meanwhile, the new poster is thoroughly badass, drawing on the character’s comic-book origins to create a silhouette, accompanied simply by a release date. Simple, but very effective. Co-starring Will Yun Lee, Tao Okamoto and Rila Fukushima, The Wolverine will open in the UK on 25 July 2013.
