First TV spot for The Hobbit: watch now
Oct 24th 2012, 08:21

The Hobbit has released a new TV spot online, featuring a couple of snippets of new dialogue alongside the usual adventure-laden footage from Bilbo’s eye-opening journey. The new teaser shows Gandalf attempting to cajole Bilbo out of his comfy but unremarkable life at Bag End, and into a rollicking adventure, the like of which no Hobbit has ever embarked upon. “The world is not in your books and maps,” he remarks, reproachfully, “It’s out there.” Indeed it is, old man, but there are also trolls out there. Big ones… Take a look at the new spot, below… While much of the footage is stuff we’ve seen before, we did enjoy Richard Armitage’s gruff delivery as Thorin Oakenshield. Understandably, he’s not easily convinced that the fate of his people rests on the shoulders of such an unimposing creature. Directed by Peter Jackson and co-starring Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen and Hugo Weaving, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will open in the UK on 14 December 2012.
