Lindsay Lohan stars in pulpy first trailer for The Canyons Oct 9th 2012, 09:24 The first trailer has emerged for The Canyons, Paul Schrader and Bret Easton Ellis’s tale of sex and murder in the sprawling environs of LA, and it plays like something from a Grindhouse theatre. The film stars Lindsay Lohan alongside porn actor James Deen, and is set to examine “the dangers of sexual obsession and ambition, both personally and professionally, among a group of young people in their 20s.” Beyond that, specific plot details are few and far between, but given the casting choices and presence of Easton Ellis on script duties, we can probably expect a lot of sex and a lot of violence. Take a look at the trailer, below… The trailer seems to play things quite tongue in cheek, so it will be interesting to see what tone the filmmakers settle on in the finished article. In any case, the pairing of Lohan with a porn star should be enough to ensure the attention of a certain audience… Directed by Paul Schrader and co-starring Nolan Funk, Amanda Brooks and Gus Van Sant, The Canyons opens in the States in 2013, with a specific release date to be confirmed.
