Robert Zemeckis talks Roger Rabbit sequel
Dec 3rd 2012, 08:26

Robert Zemeckis has been talking about the possibility of a sequel to Who Framed Roger Rabbit? with the director claiming a script exists and is more or less ready to go. “I’m happy with the script, it’s very good!” says Zemeckis, before going on to explain that the sequel would maintain the same design aesthetic as the groundbreaking original. “If I were to do the sequel, it would be done just like the first one. It would look the same way, but we would present it in 3D in its release. I would do all of the animation hand-drawn; 2D, but using 3D tools.” “It wouldn’t be like Pixar 3D,” he continues. “It wouldn’t look like that… this would again be another period movie.” So take that, Pixar 3D. Zemeckis also confirmed that he would be open to converting the original film for a 3D re-release, having seen some tests performed on the classic footage. So ,whether or not the sequel happens, you’ll probably get the opportunity to be terrified by Judge Doom on the big screen all over again…
