New action-packed TV spot for Gangster Squad: watch now Dec 12th 2012, 07:34 Gangster Squad has released a brand new TV spot online, packed with new footage, including lots and lots of explosive action. Josh Brolin plays Sgt. John O’Mara, a war veteran who returns to LA to find the city in the grip of violent gangster Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn). Given free rein to pick his own men, O’Mara is charged with taking the big man down by any means necessary. Understandably, Cohen isn’t about to go quietly, precipitating the gunfight and explosion-based mayhem that seems to make up rather a large element of this new teaser! Check it out, below… “Well, you gotta die of something,” quips Ryan Gosling’s character when recruited for the task, and from the looks of things, there will be a fair few casualties on both sides. It certainly looks exciting, though! Directed by Ruben Fleischer and co-starring Nick Nolte, Anthony Mackie, Emma Stone and Giovanni Ribisi, Gangster Squad will open in the UK on 11 January 2013.
