Bryan Singer hints at all-CGI character in X-Men: Days Of Future Past

Bryan Singer has been fairly tight-lipped with regards to upcoming sequel X-Men: Days Of Future Past, but a recent interview with MTV includes an intriguing tidbit about some of the technology he plans to use.

While discussing the motion-capture techniques used to create the giants in Jack The Giant Slayer, Singer was asked whether he might employ the same technology again in the future. His response was a tease and a half…

"I definitely want to use this technology again, and I might even be using some of it in a different way in X-Men," he explained. "I don't wanna say how, yet, but I'm definitely using some of this technology on X-Men which I never used in any of the other X-Men films.

"That's the thing I don't want to talk about," sais Singer when pushed on whether he'd be creating a fully-CGI character. "I'm not sure. I'm doing research on it now."

Given the source material the story is adapted from, it could be that Singer is exploring the best way to bring the Sentinels to life on the big screen. The towering, mutant-policing robots would be of a similar scale to the giants and would probably have to be CGI creations to appear even remotely convincing…

Co-starring James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender and a whole raft of familiar faces from the earlier films, X-Men: Days Of Future Past will open in the UK on 18 July 2014.
