James Franco stars in new Spring Breakers clip: watch now Nov 5th 2012, 08:59 Spring Breakers has released a new clip online, starring James Franco as a gun-toting, cornrow-sporting drug dealer with a southern drawl as thick as treacle. While much of the film’s promotional material has (understandably) focused upon its young female cast prancing around in bikinis, its nice to see the luridly made-over Franco get his moment in the sun. This new clip sees him attempting to impress some of the girls with the various spoils of his nefarious business. Guns? Check. Swish apartment? Check. Loads of pairs of shorts? Er, check. Take a look below… The film will see Franco’s character bail a quartet of college girls out of a jail cell in exchange for their help with a little revenge project he’s had on the back burner for a while. Needless to say, this new mission is far more illegal than what had initially landed them in trouble in the first place. Directed by Harmony Korine and co-starring Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez and Ashley Benson, Spring Breakers opens in the US on 5 March 2013, with a UK date to be confirmed.
