New gore-soaked trailer for Maniac: watch now Nov 6th 2012, 10:34 Maniac has released a new red-band trailer, in which Elijah Wood perfects his lunatic routine as the scalp-happy proprietor of a store full of grizzly mannequins. The film sees Wood star as the titular loner, who finds his life beginning to change when a pretty young artist asks him for help with her new exhibition. Little does she know, she’s asked the wrong guy… The new trailer is startlingly violent and covered head-to-toe in blood, so if you’re of a nervous disposition, you might want to give it a wide berth. You have been warned… Take a look, below… Yep, that’s the first trailer we’ve seen in a while in which a woman is slowly scalped in front of the camera. Oh Elijah, whatever would Gandalf say, hmm? Directed by Franck Khalfoun and co-starring America Olivo and Liane Balaban, Maniac will open in France on 26 December 2012, with a UK release to follow shortly after.
