How does it feel like to be on the stage again?
1271 I don't think I ever went off stage. There's a play I enacted in called Anything But Love which is almost seven to eight years old and ran for more than 150 shows. But yes, this new one has got me out of my comfort zone. There's nervousness and excitement at the same time.

How has your life changed after motherhood?
1271 OMG! It's changed in the most unbelievable way. When I look back today, the experience that I've had in the last 17 to 18 years in my career, nothing seems to be as gratifying as becoming a mother is. My life is beautiful beyond bounds.

For how long have you been rehearsing for this play? Can you share any memorable instances?
1271 I have been rehearsing for the last two years. One incident that comes to my mind is of the Zero Show, that is, the final and grand rehearsal with the sets, and a 50-member audience. The most terrible thing to have happened was that the entire set collapsed and one of my co-actors fell off the set. The sets were resurrected, and while I was on the stage performing, it collapsed again! I had no choice but keep the show going. I couldn't react but keep performing.

Can you tell us something about the characters you are playing? Any favourites?
1271 I'll always pick this one. There's a man and woman on a giant wheel and who are strangers. I play a 55-year-old woman. I sit on the giant wheel every year on my birthday because I am scared of heights. So to get rid of the fear, I'd do this as a ritual. While in the giant wheel, it stops. And there is a conversation with this stranger sitting next to me.

What do you love most about acting in plays? And what do you dislike?
1271 There's no scope of retakes. Once uttered, the word cannot be taken back. The adrenaline keeps running. You're on your own out there. That's what I like and sometimes dislike too.

Which are some of your favourite plays?
1271 I Am Not Baji Rao, The Lion King, and Chicago.

How do you balance motherhood and work?
1271 It's a tough task. When you're in a situation, you figure it out. I never have my 'me' time. But then I manage.

Any future plans?
1271 I have signed two movies that just came to me out of the blue. I also have plans in theatre, various events and sports.
