First clip from Pixar short film The Blue Umbrella: watch now Jan 7th 2013, 15:21 The first clip from new Pixar short film The Blue Umbrella has been revealed online, and you can watch it here. Any Pixar film is reason enough to make the journey to your local multiplex, and the accompanying shorts are always the icing on an already substantial cake. This one, which features a pair of brightly hued brollies falling in love, looks set to be as adorable as its predecessors, with a non-human love story to rival WALL•E’s in the cutesiness stakes. And while the finished short is unlikely to last longer than a few minutes, this 34-second clip just about works as a neat micro-film in its own right, with the entire thing turning on a single character interaction. The faces are obviously CG creations, but we can’t actually tell if those umbrellas are real or animated. Check out the footage below: You should be able to see The Blue Umbrella ahead of Monsters University when it opens in the UK on 12 July 2013 (lucky folk in the US get to see it from 21 June 2013).
