Trailer released for Primer director's Upstream Color
Jan 17th 2013, 12:08

Upstream Color has debuted an ambiguous new trailer. The film is the second feature from Shane Carruth, the writer and director of mind-bending time-travel movie, Primer (2004).

The official synopsis for Upstream Color doesn't shed much light on the trailer: "A man and woman are drawn together, entangled in the life cycle of an ageless organism. Identity becomes an illusion as they struggle to assemble the loose fragments of their wrecked lives."

Check out the trailer below:

Primer, Carruth's first feature, made on a budget of $7,000, collected the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance in 2004 and went on to gain a cult following due to its experimental and complex nature.

Upstream Color looks to be equally as elaborate as we see Jeff (Shane Carruth) and Kris (Amy Seimetz) participating in a range of dramatic and emotionally fuelled acts. The film has been selected for the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. Having made such an impact with Primer (read our review here), we can't wait to see this next feature from the mathematics graduate turned movie-maker.
